Well, we had an arduous first day…

It started with breakfast with friends, a stroll through the Ballard farmer’s market, and a trip to Captain’s for some new reading material.

Followed by cutting the lines (with a machete, of course)

and a cast off by a few close friends, then lots of waves and hollers from nearby friends and neighbors.

We rounded the northern tip of the Shilshole breakwater and pointed our bow due west.

Next landfall: a harrowing 45 minute sail in 10 knots of breeze under sunny skies … allllll the way across the Puget Sound to the exotic island of Bainbridge.

It doesn’t feel different yet, but perhaps it will soon.
